Raft and Rail adventure package Roughing it? Hardly! Please read full itinerary below. New for 2008! The Royal Gorge Route Railroad has teamed up with Echo Canyon River Expeditions to offer guests the opportunity to enjoy the most popular activities in the Royal Gorge region - rafting with Echo and riding the rails through the Royal Gorge on the Royal Gorge Route Railroad. And... it gets even better with your choice of riding the rails in style in Vista Dome - including a delicious lunch, or Wine Express - where you'll be treated to a flight of 4-wines from around the world, paired with mouthwatering appetizers to compliment. itinerary: rafting - Bighorn sheep canyon Check in time: 1:15 PM Check in at Echo Canyon River Expedition's headquarters located just eight miles west of Canon City Eight miles west of Cañon City located between mile markers 270 and 271 Bighorn Sheep Canyon offers just the right blend of mild to moderate excitement with miles of scenic beauty. As the name implies Bighorn Sheep populate this area extensively and are sometimes spotted along the banks of the river or along the rugged mountain-sides. This particular rafting adventure is wonderful for all ages 6 and up (minimum weight is 50 lbs).
Ride the Rails through the Royal Gorge Boarding time: 4:30 PM After rafting through Bighorn Sheep canyon, you arrive in Parkdale, Vista Dome (ages 6 and up): Ride in one of our glass-topped dome cars through the Royal Gorge. Your ticket includes a delicious lunch consisting of appetizer, entree and soft drink, coffee or tea. Alcoholic beverages are available for an additional charge. Gratuity is included in the package price. Wine Express (ages 13 and up): We're pulling out all the stops with this new class of service. Somewhere in between a light lunch and a brunch, delicious appetizers are paired with wines from around the world and are sure to satisfy. Seating is in one of our luxurious dining cars or you may opt to ride in Vista Dome for an additional charge. Alcoholic beverages are available for an additional charge. Gratuity is included in the package price. Train arrives at the historic santa fe depot Time: 5:30 PM After your culinary treat and scenic feast, the train arrives back at the historic Santa Fe Depot, where transportation awaits to deliver you back to Echo Canyon River Expedition headquarters. on the north side of U.S. Hwy 50. Look for our blue and white sign with a big blue wave. Once there, Echo Canyon's professional staff will take care of you, outfitting you with all the gear needed for your fun, rafting adventure through beautiful Bighorn Sheep canyon. 
Colorado where the Royal Gorge Route Railroad has been awaiting your arrival. Echo Canyon River Expeditions will provide you with facilities to change into comfortable clothing, and then our conductor will help you board the train. The train will then take you on a spectacular rail journey, 12-miles through the breathtaking Royal Gorge.
